Our Research Team is made up of Dr Andy Veale, Dr Alison Goldthorpe, Carol and Mel.
Dr Andy Veale has over 30 years’ experience working in clinical trials, with 10 years as the lead investigator. With his training in Internal Medicine, Respiratory Medicine and Sleep Medicine he has been able to oversee more than 30 studies since the research unit began at NZRSI in 2008.
Dr Alison Goldthorpe is the new comer to the team. She is a respiratory and sleep fellow who has enjoyed entering the new world of clinical research.
Carol is our lead study coordinator who has worked in research for 8 years. She has a background in medicine and science, and completed the Post Graduate Diploma in Clinical Research at Victoria University in 2013.
Mel has been part of the team for 6 years. She is a very experienced registered nurse/study coordinator who has worked in both cardiothoracic and vascular intensive care units and as a nurse specialist in the Christchurch Hospital sleep unit.
Together we really enjoy working with our study participants and look forward to welcoming you to the Research Department.
